Description

Protective sleeves (mounting, thermometer, thermowells) GZ-001, GZ-002, GZ-003, GZ-004, GZ-101, GZ-102, GZ-103, GZ-104 (hereinafter protective sleeves GZ) are designed for the installation of resistance thermometers, thermoelectric converters (thermocouples), glass thermometers, bimetallic sensors, manometers. Protective sleeves GZ protect the mounted instruments from mechanical and chemical effects of the working environment and increased dynamic loads.

Mounting temperature sensors using protective sleeves GZ significantly extends the service life of these sensors. Thermometer sleeves can be mounted in pressure vessels, steam boilers, pipelines, tanks, and other facilities. Mounting is done using threaded (GZ-001, GZ-002, GZ-003, GZ-004) or welded connection (GZ-101, GZ-102, GZ-103, GZ-104).

To reduce thermal inertia, sleeves can be manufactured with a reduced diameter transition in the mounting zone of the sensor’s working area or other instrument mounted in the sleeve.

Thermometer sleeves are made with mounting threads: metric according to ISO 724, cylindrical pipe thread according to BSPP / ISO 228-1, and inch tapered thread according to NPT / ANSI-ASME B1.20.1. The mounting thread can be made upon customer's request according to other standards.

Protective sleeves GZ can be used together with temperature sensors models 002, 003, and 101.

Protective sleeves GZ are made from steel grade 12Х18Н10Т according to EN 10088. Upon customer's request, thermometer sleeves can be manufactured from other steel grades.

AISI 321 12Х18Н10Т 08Х18Н10Т heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant, high-temperature austenitic steel. It has high strength and durability. Used at temperatures up to 600 °C, and up to 350 °C in highly aggressive environments.
AISI 304 08Х18Н10 heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant austenitic steel. Used at temperatures up to 400 °C in environments with medium activity.
AISI 316L 03Х17Н14М3 corrosion-resistant austenitic steel. Used at temperatures up to 450 °C in most aggressive environments.
AISI 316Ti 10Х17Н13М2Т corrosion-resistant austenitic steel. Used at temperatures up to 600 °C in highly aggressive environments.
AISI 430 12Х17 heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant ferritic steel. Used at temperatures up to 400 °C in mildly aggressive environments.
12Х1МФ heat-resistant, resistant to prolonged high-temperature exposure perlitic steel. Used at temperatures up to 600 °C.

Protective sleeves GZ should be operated at flow velocities and pressures not exceeding the values specified in the tables for specific sleeve modifications. The maximum flow velocity and nominal pressure of the working environment are determined considering ensuring the static strength of the sleeve.

Thermometric sleeves GZ of all modifications are sealed. They are subject to acceptance tests with test pressure P_test and must be operated at working pressure P_work in accordance with GOST 3634-79.

Conditional designation of protective sleeves GZ according to TUU 26.5-32195027-008:2016:

REGMIK GPP-GZ-{modification}.D.D1.d.d1.L.M1.S.M2.{steel_grade},

where D, D1 - outer diameter of the mounting part, mm
d, d1 - inner diameter of the mounting part, mm
L, L1 - length of the mounting part, mm
M1 - type of external thread or diameter of the welded part
M2 - type of internal thread
a1 - length of the external threaded or welded part, mm
a2 - length of the internal threaded part, mm
S - hexagon size.

FAQ

Questions and answers

What are the protective sleeves GZ intended for?
Protective sleeves GZ are used for mounting resistance thermometers, thermoelectric converters (thermocouples), glass and bimetallic thermometers, as well as pressure gauges. They protect these devices from mechanical and chemical effects of the working environment and increased dynamic loads.
What types of mounting connections do GZ sleeves have?
The sleeves can have either threaded or welded connections. Models GZ-001, GZ-002, GZ-003, GZ-004 are equipped with threaded connections, while models GZ-101, GZ-102, GZ-103, GZ-104 have welded connections. Installation is carried out according to the type of sleeve connection.
What material are the protective sleeves GZ made of?
The sleeves are made of 12X18H10T steel (AISI 321) according to EN 10088, which is heat-resistant and resistant to corrosion and high temperatures. Upon customer's request, it is possible to manufacture sleeves from other grades of steel such as AISI 304, AISI 316L, AISI 316Ti, and others.
What mounting thread standards do GZ sleeves support?
The mounting thread of thermometer sleeves can be metric according to ISO 724, cylindrical pipe thread according to BSPP / ISO 228-1, or tapered inch thread according to NPT / ANSI-ASME B1.20.1. Manufacturing threads according to other standards is also possible upon customer request.
What are the operating conditions regarding pressure and hermeticity for GZ sleeves?
Thermometer sleeves GZ are hermetic and undergo acceptance testing with test pressure. They are recommended for operation at working pressure according to GOST 3634-79 and should operate at flow speeds and pressures that do not exceed those specified for particular modifications in the technical documentation.
