The two-channel impulse counter together with various sensors is designed for monitoring and managing various technological production processes requiring automatic counting of quantities by two channels.
The two-channel impulse counter SI2 is designed to count the number of pulses arriving at the device input by two channels. They can be used to determine the quantity of produced products (in any units – length, weight, pieces, etc.), measure displacement, baking time of bread, and more. The built-in timer allows the device to be used as an equipment operating time counter, flow meter.
Counters are manufactured in two versions powered: from AC mains voltage of 110..240V or from a DC voltage source of 12..24V.
The SI2 impulse counter is intended for:
- counting the number of pulses coming from measuring sensors to the counting inputs (or one counting input) of the impulse counter and converting them into the required physical units by multiplying with a set multiplier (e.g., meters, liters, pieces, kilograms, etc.);
- counting total production for a shift, day, week, month, etc.;
- controlling actuators with one or several discrete outputs (most often in impulse counters a relay or optocoupler is used as the discrete output).
An inductive sensor (contactless sensor) or encoder is used as the sensor.
Contactless sensor - a position switch that operates without mechanical contact with the moving part (machine). A position switch is an automatic control circuit switch whose control mechanism is activated when the moving part of the machine reaches a specified position.
Main functions of SI2:
- automatic counting of pulses received at the counting input (two channels);
- control of external actuators when a set number of pulses is reached;
- forward and reverse pulse counting;
- operating time measurement of equipment (time counter);
- measuring pulse count per unit time (tachometer, flow meter);
- automatic saving of count results when power is off;
- division and multiplication of the counted pulse quantity by coefficients set by the user programmatically;
- elimination of contact bounce effects on input sensor signals from pulse counting results;
- display of pulse count results on a built-in LED digital indicator (4 or 5 digits);
- ability to work with various types of encoders, optical sensors with npn or pnp outputs;
- parameter protection with a password;
- quick access to frequently changed parameters;
- RS-485 interface (optional).
