The single-channel pulse counter SI1, together with various sensors, is designed for monitoring and controlling different technological production processes where automatic pulse counting by one channel is required.
The single-channel pulse counter SI1 is designed to count the number of pulses arriving at the device input. The device can be used to determine the amount of produced goods (in any units – length, weight, pieces, etc.), measure displacement, baking time of bread, and other tasks. The built-in timer allows using the device as a run-time counter of equipment, flow meter.
Pulse counters are produced in two modifications by power supply type: from AC mains voltage 110..240 V or from DC power source 12..24 V.
The pulse counter is intended for:
- counting the number of pulses received from measuring sensors on the counting inputs (or one counting input) of the counter and converting them into the required physical units by multiplying by a user-set coefficient (for example, meters, liters, pieces, kilograms, etc.);
- counting total production for shift, day, week, month, etc.;
- controlling actuators by one or several discrete outputs (usually on pulse counters a relay or optocoupler is used as a discrete output).
An inductive (contactless) sensor or encoder is used as a sensor.
A contactless sensor is a position switch that operates without mechanical contact with the moving part (machine). A position switch is an automatic control circuit switch whose mechanism activates when the moving part of the machine reaches a set position.
Main functions of SI1
- automatic counting of pulses received at the counting input;
- control of external actuator upon reaching the set number of pulses;
- forward and reverse counting of pulses;
- counting equipment run-time (time counter);
- measuring pulse quantity per unit time (tachometer, flow meter);
- automatic saving of count results on power off;
- distribution and multiplication of counted pulse quantity by user-programmed coefficients;
- elimination of contact bounce influence from input sensor on pulse count accuracy;
- displaying count results on a built-in LED digital indicator with 4 or 5 digits;
- support for working with various encoder types, optical sensors with npn or pnp outputs;
- parameter protection by password;
- quick access to frequently changed parameters;
- RS-485 interface (optional).
