The two-channel eight-digit pulse counter SI2-8 together with various sensors is designed for control and management of various technological production processes requiring automatic counting on two channels.
The two-channel eight-digit pulse counter SI2-8 is designed to count pulses received at the device input. The device can be used to determine the quantity of manufactured products (in any units of length, weight, etc.), measure displacement, baking time of bread, and more.
The pulse counter allows the following functions:
- automatic counting of the number of pulses received at its input;
- direct, reverse or reversible pulse counting;
- counting equipment operating time (hour meter);
- measuring the rate of change of a physical quantity per unit time (flow meter);
- automatic saving of count results when power is turned off;
- division and multiplication of the counted number of pulses by coefficients entered programmatically by the user;
- operation on two independent counting channels and in result summation mode;
- displaying pulse count results on a built-in LED digital indicator;
- control of an external executive device;
- elimination of contact bounce effects of the input sensor contacts on pulse counting results;
- light indication of the device operating mode;
- generation of an "Alarm" signal when the counted pulses exceed the maximum value that can be displayed on the indicator;
- software change of the device operation algorithm parameters;
- possibility of manufacturing the device with an isolated RS-485 interface.

What is the SI2-8 pulse counter used for?
The two-channel pulse counter SI2-8 is designed to count pulses received at the device input and can be used to determine the quantity of manufactured products, measure displacement, baking time of bread, and more.
What are the main functions of the SI2-8 pulse counter?
The device can perform direct, reverse or reversible pulse counting, counting equipment running time, measuring the rate of change of physical quantities, operate on two independent counting channels and in result summation mode.
How are results displayed and are data saved when power is off?
The counter has a built-in LED digital indicator to display counting results, automatically saves results during power outages, and can control external executive devices.
Does the SI2-8 counter support the RS-485 communication interface?
Yes, the device can be manufactured with an isolated RS-485 interface ensuring reliable communication with other devices and computers.
What protection and error control mechanisms does the SI2-8 counter have?
The counter has protection against input sensor contact bounce effects, software parameter modification of the operation algorithm, and generates an alarm signal when exceeding the maximum pulse count displayable on the indicator.
