Ten-channel discrete output expansion block BR10

Description

The BR10 output expansion unit is designed for switching on/off signal circuits, switching signals, turning on/off power circuits, managing notification systems, activating emergency signaling systems, and more.

It is recommended for use together with controllers, time relays (RD8, RP8, RV8) and other wired instruments, supporting the standard ModBus exchange protocol in the RS-485 network.

Main functions and operating modes of the output expansion unit:

• The expansion blocks are independent devices with RS-485 communication interface and ModBus RTU protocol, allowing their use together with devices from our company, equipment from other manufacturers, as well as directly controlled by a personal computer;
• The number of inputs/outputs can be increased by using several expansion blocks connected to one control device. This approach ensures extension of the functional capabilities of measuring devices/controllers, high reliability and interchangeability;
• The device is a slave, meaning normal operation is possible only when connected to a master device (personal computer or microprocessor control system). The communication protocol between the device and the master device is Modbus RTU over RS-485 network;

The user can reconfigure the BR software-wise via the master device, namely:

• device number in the network;
• data exchange rate;
• number of data bits;
• type of parity;
• number of stop bits;
• initial state of discrete outputs;
• state of analog outputs;
• light indication of operating modes;
• simple mounting on DIN rail.
