The eight-channel discrete outputs expansion block BR8 is designed for turning on/off signal chains, switching signals, turning on/off power circuits, controlling notification systems, activating emergency alarm systems, etc.
The eight-channel discrete outputs expansion block BR8 is designed for turning on/off signal chains, switching signals, turning on/off power circuits, controlling notification systems, activating emergency alarm systems, etc.
Recommended for joint operation with controllers, time relays (RD8, RP8, RV8) and other leading devices, supports the standard ModBus exchange protocol over an RS-485 network.
Main functions and operating modes of the outputs expansion block:
- Expansion blocks are independent devices with an RS-485 communication interface using the ModBus RTU protocol, allowing their use together with instruments produced by our enterprise, equipment from other manufacturers, as well as directly controlled by a personal computer;
- The number of inputs/outputs can be increased by using multiple expansion blocks connected to one controlling device. This approach provides extended functionalities of meters/controllers, high reliability, and interchangeability;
- The device is a slave device, meaning normal operation is possible only when connected to a master device (personal computer or microprocessor control system). The communication protocol between the device and the master is Modbus RTU over an RS-485 network;
The user can programmatically reconfigure the eight-channel discrete outputs expansion block BR8 via the master device, namely:
- device number on the network;
- data exchange rate;
- number of data bits;
- type of parity;
- number of stop bits;
- initial state of discrete outputs;
- state of analog outputs;
- light indication of operating modes;
- simple mounting on a DIN rail.
