Description

The eight-channel measurer I8 is designed for measuring and monitoring from 1 to 8 physical quantities and displaying the measured values on the built-in digital indicator.
I8 has eight independent measuring channels and is available in two power supply versions: from AC mains 90..240 V (IPI) or from a DC source 12..24 V (IP24).

Purpose:

The I8 is used to monitor temperature, pressure, humidity, flow, or other physical quantities simultaneously in several zones (up to 8) with the possibility of emergency signaling if any monitored parameter goes beyond set limits (one emergency output).
The device is used as an emergency signaler in incubators, ovens, drying chambers in the food, metallurgical, and other industries.

General functions and operating modes:

  • Measurement of object temperatures using resistance thermometers (temperature sensors) of types TSM (50M, 100M) and TSP (50P, 100P, Pt100, Pt500, Pt1000), thermocouples (THK, THA, TJQ, etc.), as well as sensors with standardized current output signals AT (0..5 mA, 0..20 mA, 4..20 mA) or voltage AN (0..1 V, 0..5 V, 0..10 V);
  • Generation of "Alarm" signal (with the possibility of issuing a control signal to the output stage) when the measured value goes beyond the set alarm range, as well as in case of break or short circuit of the input sensor;
  • Function of calculating and displaying the square root of the measured value (for example, to determine instantaneous flow from AN and AT sensors);
  • Scaling of measurement range;
  • Light indication of operating modes;
  • Software configuration of conversion characteristic parameters (slope, offset);
  • Digital filtering of measured data (filter depth - up to 10 measurement periods);
  • Changing the display period of measured values;
  • Digital calibration of input channels;
  • Password protection of settings;
  • Built-in power supply = 24 V, 100 mA for powering active sensors or connecting emergency relay;
  • RS-485 ModBus RTU interface for transmitting measured values to PC or integration with PLC.

FAQ

Questions and answers

What is the eight-channel measurer I8 used for?
The eight-channel measurer I8 is designed for simultaneous measurement and control of from 1 to 8 physical quantities such as temperature, pressure, humidity, flow, displaying results on a built-in digital indicator.
Which types of sensors can be connected to the I8 measurer?
The I8 supports various types of sensors: resistance thermometers of types TSM, TSP (Pt100, Pt500, Pt1000), thermocouples (THK, THA, TJQ), as well as sensors with standardized current output signals (0..5 mA, 0..20 mA, 4..20 mA) and voltage (0..1 V, 0..5 V, 0..10 V).
How does the alarm signaling work in the I8?
The device has one alarm output which activates when the measured value exceeds set limits or when there is a break or short circuit in the input sensor. This allows using the I8 as an emergency signaler.
What power supply options are available for the I8 measurer?
The I8 is available in two power supply versions: from AC mains 90..240 V (IPI) or from a DC source 12..24 V (IP24).
What additional functions does the I8 have?
The measurer provides digital filtering, channel calibration, scale scaling, square root calculation of the measured value, password protection of settings, and data transmission via RS-485 ModBus RTU interface for operation with PC or PLC.
