Description

The PID controller for controlling gate valves and three-position valves RP1-3 is designed to receive and convert signals from resistance thermometers (RTD), thermoelectric converters (TC), and sensors with unified current (AT) and voltage (AN) output signals into temperature values (or other physical quantities) displayed on built-in digital indicators, while simultaneously providing temperature control of objects according to the proportional-integral-derivative (PID) law.

The RP1-3 allows control of the electric actuator of shut-off control valves (SCV) or three-way valves regardless of their position using PID or pulse control laws.

The device automatically monitors the sensor status and ensures the measured temperature remains within the set measurement range.

Main functions of RP1-3:

  • Measurement of temperature, humidity, pressure (or other physical parameters) of various objects via one or two channels using standard sensors:
    resistance thermometers [RTD], thermoelectric converters [TC],
    sensors with unified output current signals 0..5 mA, 0(4)..20 mA [AT], and
    voltage signals 0..1V, 0..10V [AN];
  • Displaying current and set temperature values on built-in LED digital indicators;
  • Control of physical quantity according to the proportional-integral-derivative (PID) law;
  • Management of electric actuators for shut-off control (SCV) or three-way valves regardless of their position using PID or pulse control laws;
  • Maintaining object temperature by PID control in a "heater-cooler" system;
  • Ability to change set temperature values (setpoints) for the PID controller;
  • Capability for automatic tuning of the PID controller coefficients;
  • Data exchange with a personal computer via RS-485 interface;
  • Two power supply modifications: from AC mains with nominal voltage 220 V or from DC source with nominal voltage 12..24 V;
  • Light indication of device operating mode and formation of an "Error" signal.

FAQ

Questions and answers

What types of input sensors does the RP1-3 controller support?
The PID controller RP1-3 supports the following types of input sensors: resistance thermometers (RTD) according to DSTU 2858-94 and 2837-94, thermoelectric converters (TC), as well as sensors with standardized current output signals (0..5 mA, 0(4)..20 mA) and voltage outputs (0..1 V, 0..10 V, 0..5 V).
What power supply options are available for the RP1-3 PID controller?
The controller can be powered either from an AC mains supply of 220 V or from a DC source with a voltage of 12..24 V, allowing a permissible deviation of ±10%.
How does the RP1-3 controller control valves?
The controller manages the electric actuator of shut-off or three-way valves without considering the valve position, using proportional-integral-derivative (PID) or pulse control laws.
What configuration and monitoring functions does the RP1-3 controller have?
The device allows changing set temperature values, automatically tuning PID coefficients, and monitors sensor status as well as the measured temperature staying within the configured range.
Does the RP1-3 controller provide indication of current parameters and operational status?
The RP1-3 features built-in LED digital indicators showing current and set values, along with light indication of operational mode and an "Error" signal for device status monitoring.
