Description

The enterprise "REGMIK" manufactures humidity and temperature sensors DVTs-304 with a digital SHTxxx sensor. For temperature measurement, sensors from the German company Heraeus are used.

Humidity and temperature sensors are designed to convert the values of relative humidity of a gaseous environment and its temperature (except aggressive gases) into standard electrical signals:

  • I²C - digital sensors;
  • voltage 0-10 V - for digital and analog sensors;
  • current 4-20 mA - for digital and analog sensors;
  • RS-485 (ModBus RTU protocol) - for digital sensors.

The field of application for air humidity sensors is very broad and includes:

  • Maintaining the microclimate within specified limits in production equipped with humidity-sensitive electronic devices;
  • Monitoring humidity indicators in office spaces and households;
  • In the utility sector – in boiler rooms and water treatment stations to prevent condensation;
  • Periodic monitoring to prevent the appearance of mold, mildew on building walls or warehouses;
  • Monitoring technological processes;
  • Monitoring environmental parameters, etc.

Humidity and temperature sensors DVTs-304 do not allow moisture condensation.

Measuring element for DVTs-304 humidity sensors

The sensors may use measuring elements HIH4xxx (manufactured by Honeywell International, Inc., USA) or SHTxxx (Sensirion, Switzerland).

The multilayer structure of the HIH4xxx sensitive element provides high resistance to most influences such as wetting, dust, dirt, oils, and common chemicals in the environment. Main characteristics of sensors based on HIH4xxx series elements:

  • Cast housing made of thermosetting plastic;
  • Almost linear output voltage depending on relative humidity;
  • Interchangeability with laser calibration;
  • Low power consumption design;
  • Increased accuracy;
  • Fast response time;
  • Stable characteristics with low drift;
  • Chemical resistance.

Humidity and temperature sensors DVTs-304 based on the SHTxxx series elements have the following distinctive characteristics:

  • High reliability and long-term stability;
  • Industry-proven technology with over 10 years of experience;
  • Designed for mass production;
  • Optimized for minimal cost;
  • Low signal noise level.

The converter operates stably within the recommended measurement range of humidity and temperature. Prolonged exposure to conditions outside the normal range, especially at humidity > 80%, may temporarily increase measurement errors. After returning to the normal range, it slowly returns to factory parameters.

Special caution should be exercised when using the converter in conditions of high humidity (> 98%) and near the dew point, as wetting the sensitive element can irreversibly damage it.

It is recommended to install DVTs-304 sensors with the protective cover and the sensitive element downward, which minimizes sensor failures under high humidity and near the dew point. The sensor is mounted so that air freely circulates around it. When choosing a location on the wall, avoid drafts, direct sunlight, and other heat sources. Installation is done directly on the wall.

FAQ

Questions and answers

What is the DVTs-304 humidity and temperature sensor designed for?
The DVTs-304 sensor is designed to measure the relative humidity of a gaseous environment (except aggressive gases) and air temperature from -40 to +85 °C with accuracy depending on the type of the sensitive element.
What standard electrical signals does the DVTs-304 sensor support?
The DVTs-304 sensors can output signals in I²C format, voltage 0-10 V, current 4-20 mA, as well as RS-485 with ModBus RTU protocol for digital models.
What types of measuring elements are used in the DVTs-304 sensor?
The measuring element can be from the HIH4xxx series produced by Honeywell or the SHTxxx series produced by Sensirion. Both options offer high accuracy, stability, and protection but differ in construction details and characteristics.
How should the DVTs-304 sensor be properly installed for stable operation?
The sensor does not allow moisture condensation on the sensor. It is recommended to install the sensor with the sensitive element downward in a protective cover, avoid direct sunlight, drafts, and heat sources to ensure accurate readings and longevity.
What are the metrological characteristics of the DVTs-304 sensor?
The temperature measurement range of the sensor is from -40 to +100 °C, and relative humidity from 0% to 100% (broad range). Accuracy depends on the subrange and the element used, for example, temperature error in the operating range from ±0.4 to ±0.5 °C.
