Humidity and temperature sensors are used in climate control systems and process monitoring. DVT sensors can be digital and analog, with digital outputs, RS-485, 4..20 mA or 0..10 V, and various types of metrological characteristics.
The enterprise "REGMIK" manufactures humidity and temperature sensors with digital (DVTc-011) and analog (DVT-011) sensitive elements. In the DVT-011 sensors, the HIH4xxx element is used for humidity measurement, while in the DVTc-011 sensors, the SHTxx element is used. Temperature is measured using temperature sensors from the German company Heraeus.
The humidity and temperature sensors are designed to convert values of relative humidity of the gaseous environment and its temperature (except aggressive gases) into standard electrical signals:
- analog voltage (measured voltage value at the humidity sensor);
- I2C - digital sensors;
- 0-10 V output - for digital and analog sensors;
- 4-20 mA current - for digital and analog sensors;
- resistance (temperature value from temperature sensors Pt100, Pt500, or Pt1000) - for analog sensors;
- RS-485 (ModBus RTU protocol) - for digital sensors.
The scope of application of air humidity sensors is very wide and includes:
- Maintaining the microclimate within specified limits in production equipped with electronic devices sensitive to humidity;
- Monitoring humidity in office premises and in everyday life;
- In the housing and communal services sector — in boiler rooms and water treatment plants, preventing condensation formation;
- Periodic monitoring helps prevent the appearance of mold and mildew on building walls or in warehouses;
- Control of technological processes;
- Control of environmental parameters, etc.
The protective fitting material of the sensors is stainless steel grade 12X18H10T. The DVT-011 and DVTc-011 humidity and temperature sensors do not allow moisture condensation.
The multilayer design of the HIH4xxx sensitive element ensures excellent resistance to most application hazards such as wetting, dust, dirt, oils, and common chemical substances in the environment. Key characteristics of sensors based on the HIH4xxx series elements:
- Cast thermosetting plastic housing;
- Almost linear output voltage depending on relative humidity;
- Interchangeability with laser calibration;
- Low power consumption design;
- Increased accuracy;
- Fast response time;
- Stable characteristics with low drift;
- Chemical resistance.
The DVT-011 and DVTc-011 humidity and temperature sensors based on SHTxxx series elements have the following distinctive characteristics:
- High reliability and long-term stability;
- Industry-proven technology with more than 10 years of operational experience;
- Designed for mass production;
- Optimized for minimal cost;
- Low signal noise level.
The converter operates stably within the recommended humidity and temperature measurement range. Prolonged exposure to conditions outside the normal range, especially at humidity > 80%, may temporarily increase measurement error. After returning to the normal range, it will slowly return to factory parameters.
Special caution should be exercised when using the converter under high humidity conditions (> 98%) and near the dew point, because wetting of the sensitive element may cause irreversible failure.
