Temperature sensors of group 104 type 1 are designed to measure the temperature of the ambient environment, liquid, gaseous and bulk chemically non-aggressive media, as well as the surface of solid bodies in various industries.
Temperature is the most common parameter for measurement, and overheating is one of the most harmful factors in equipment operation; therefore, there are many methods and places for applying temperature sensors.
The operating principle of resistance temperature detectors is based on the change in electrical resistance of conductors and semiconductors depending on temperature. The sensor material must have a high temperature coefficient of resistance, linear dependence of resistance on temperature, good property reproducibility, and inertness to environmental influences. Platinum best meets these properties, copper somewhat less so.
Thermocouples are differential temperature sensors that form an electrical signal proportional to the temperature difference between two different points. The junction (splice) used for measuring temperature is called the "hot" junction, while the other junction is called the "cold" junction.
Classification of 104 REGMIK temperature sensors by type of sensing element
