Description

Temperature sensors of group 206 2 are designed to measure the surface temperature of solid bodies in various industrial sectors. They feature small size, improved thermal inertia characteristics, and do not require complex installation work during mounting at the site.

Temperature is the most widespread parameter for measurement, and overheating is one of the most harmful factors in equipment operation; therefore, there are many methods and applications for temperature sensors.

The operating principle of resistance temperature detectors is based on the change of electrical resistance of conductors and semiconductors depending on temperature. The material used for such sensors must have a high temperature coefficient of resistance, preferably a linear resistance-temperature dependence, good reproducibility of properties, and resistance to environmental effects. Platinum best meets these requirements; copper less so.

Thermocouples are exclusively differential temperature sensors. They generate an electrical signal proportional to the temperature difference between two different points. Therefore, the junction used to measure the required temperature is called the "hot" junction, and the other unavoidable junction is the "cold" junction.

Classification of 206 REGMIK temperature sensors by type of sensing element

  • Resistance temperature detectors (thermometers) — TSM, TSP;
  • Thermoelectric converters (thermocouples) — TXA, TXK, TZhK;
  • Semiconductor converters — TP.

FAQ

Questions and answers

What are the 206 REGMIK temperature sensors intended for?
Temperature sensors of the 206 series are designed to measure the surface temperature of solid bodies in industrial applications. They feature small dimensions, low thermal inertia, and are easy to install without complex procedures.
What types of measuring elements are used in the 206 temperature sensors?
The sensors are manufactured based on resistance thermometers (RTDs) (TCM, TSP), thermoelectric converters (THA, THK, THJK), and semiconductor converters (TP). The sensitive element material is primarily platinum or copper.
What are the main technical characteristics of the 206 temperature sensors?
The sensors have connection schemes with two, three, or four wires. Accuracy classes for resistance thermometers are A, B, C; for thermocouples - 1, 2. The enclosure protection rating is IP54.
How do resistance thermometers work in temperature sensors?
Resistance thermometers (thermoresistors) operate based on the change in electrical resistance of the material with temperature variation. Platinum exhibits the best properties, allowing for a linear and reproducible dependence of resistance on temperature.
