Description

"REGMIK" enterprise manufactures humidity and temperature sensors DVT-304 with an analog sensitive element. In DVT-304 sensors, a Honeywell element is used as the sensitive element for humidity measurement. For temperature measurement, temperature sensors from the German company Heraeus are applied.

The DVTc-304 humidity sensor is used in systems for automated regulation and control of technological processes in industry, as well as in systems for managing and monitoring indoor microclimates, and drying chambers. The sensor’s protective cover is made of sintered stainless steel particles with fine porosity that does not oxidize.

As a result, the sensitive element is protected from fine dust particles and splashes falling from any direction. In case resin, sawdust, dirt etc. stick to the protective cover, it can be carefully removed and washed in a solvent. Before reinstalling, it must be thoroughly dried.

Humidity and temperature sensors are designed to convert the values of relative humidity of the gas environment and its temperature (except aggressive gases) into standard electrical signals:

  • analog voltage (measured voltage value on the humidity sensor);
  • I2C – digital sensors;
  • 0-10 V voltage – for digital and analog sensors;
  • 4-20 mA current – for digital and analog sensors;
  • resistance (temperature values from sensors Pt100, Pt500 or Pt1000) – for analog sensors;
  • RS-485 (ModBus RTU Protocol) – for digital sensors.

The application range of air humidity sensors is very wide and includes:

  • maintaining the microclimate within specified limits in production equipped with humidity-sensitive electronic devices;
  • humidity monitoring in office premises and households;
  • in utilities sector – in boiler rooms and water treatment plants to prevent condensation;
  • periodic monitoring to help avoid mold and mildew formation on building walls or storage facilities;
  • control of technological processes;
  • control of environmental parameters, etc.

The protective fitting material of the sensors is stainless steel grade 12Х18Н10Т. The DVT-304 humidity and temperature sensors do not allow condensation of moisture.

The multilayer construction of the HIH4xxx sensitive element ensures excellent resistance to most environmental hazards such as wetting, dust, dirt, oils, and common chemicals in the environment. The main characteristics of sensors based on Honeywell elements:

  • molded thermoset plastic housing;
  • nearly linear output voltage depending on relative humidity;
  • interchangeability with laser trimming;
  • low power consumption design;
  • enhanced accuracy;
  • fast response time;
  • stable performance with low drift;
  • chemical resistance.

The converter operates stably within the recommended measurement ranges of humidity and temperature. Prolonged exposure to conditions outside the normal range, especially at humidity > 80%, may temporarily increase measurement error. After returning to the normal range, performance will slowly return to factory parameters.

Particular care should be taken when using the converter in conditions of high humidity (> 98%) and near the dew point, because wetting of the sensitive element can cause irreversible failure.

Other modifications of humidity sensors are also produced, which can be found at this link...

FAQ

Questions and answers

What is the measurement range of temperature and humidity for the DVT-304 sensor?
The DVT-304 sensor is designed to measure relative air humidity from 0 to 100% and temperature in the range from -40 to +85 °C.
How to care for the DVT-304 humidity sensor protective cover in case of contamination?
The sensor’s protective cover is made of sintered stainless steel particles with fine porosity that does not oxidize. It can be removed and washed in a solvent if contaminated, then must be thoroughly dried before reinstalling.
What types of output signals does the DVT-304 sensor support?
The sensor converts humidity and temperature values into standard electrical signals including analog voltage, digital signals via I2C and RS-485 (ModBus RTU), 0-10 V voltage and 4-20 mA current. Resistance measurement is also supported for Pt100, Pt500, and Pt1000 sensors.
Can the DVT-304 sensor operate without moisture condensation?
The DVT-304 sensors prevent moisture condensation due to the protective fitting material made of stainless steel grade 12Х18Н10Т and the special design of the sensitive element.
What are the operating condition limitations for the DVT-304 sensor?
To ensure measurement accuracy, avoid using the sensor at humidity above 98% and near the dew point, as the sensitive element may become wet and fail. Temporary humidity exceeding 80% may increase error, but parameters recover after return to normal conditions.
