Description

The RP2 device is designed to receive and convert signals coming from resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), thermoelectric converters (TCs), and sensors with a standardized current output signal (AT) and voltage output (AN), into temperature values (or other physical quantities), and to display them on built-in digital indicators while simultaneously regulating the temperature of objects by a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) law with time delay.

RP2 can be used for controlling various technological processes in industry, agriculture, and communal services (in processes requiring regulation). For example, in autoclaves, sterilizers, for controlling electric drives, and more.

The device automatically monitors the condition of sensors and ensures that the measured temperature is within the set measurement range.

Main functions of RP2:

  • Measurement of temperature, humidity, pressure (or other physical parameters) of various objects on one or two channels using standard sensors:
    Resistance temperature detectors [RTD], thermoelectric converters [TC],
    Sensors with standardized output current signals 0..5 mA, 0(4)..20 mA [AT], and
    Voltage 0..1V, 0..10V [AN];
  • Humidity measurement based on the psychrometric method using standard RTDs;
  • Display of current and set temperature values on built-in LED digital indicators for one channel;
  • Simultaneous display of current temperature values on built-in LED digital indicators for two channels;
  • Temperature (humidity) regulation of objects by proportional-integral-derivative (PID) law on two channels;
  • Ability to change set temperature values (setpoints) for the PID controller on two channels;
  • Possibility of automatic PID controller coefficient tuning;
  • Data exchange with a personal computer via RS-485 interface;
  • Light indication of the device's operating mode, generation of "Error" signals;

FAQ

Questions and answers

What is the purpose of the PID controller RP2?
The PID controller RP2 is intended for receiving and converting signals from resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), thermoelectric converters (TCs), as well as sensors with standardized output current (AT) and voltage (AN) signals into temperature or other physical magnitudes while simultaneously regulating according to the PID law.
Which sensors are compatible with RP2 and what is the temperature measurement range?
RP2 is compatible with various RTD modifications (e.g., Pt100, TSP 50, TSP 100), thermoelectric converters (types L, K, J, S, B, A-1), and sensors with standardized current (0..5 mA, 0(4)..20 mA) and voltage (0..1V, 0..10V, 0..5V) output signals. The temperature measurement range varies from -50 °C to +2500 °C depending on the sensor type.
What regulation functions does RP2 support?
RP2 supports temperature or humidity regulation according to a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) law with the possibility of automatic tuning of the controller coefficients, simultaneous regulation on two channels, and changing setpoints for each channel.
How is information displayed and device status monitored?
Information is displayed on built-in digital LED indicators showing current and set temperature values on one or two channels. The device also has light indication of operating mode, error signaling, and provides monitoring of connected sensor status and measurement correctness.
How does RP2 communicate with a computer for control or monitoring?
Communication between RP2 and a personal computer for control and monitoring is carried out via RS-485 interface, allowing integration into automated process control systems.
