Temperature Controller for Edge Banding Machine RD3-02

The temperature controller for the edge banding machine RD3-02 is designed for receiving and converting signals from thermoelectric converters (TC) into temperature values and displaying them on built-in digital indicators, as well as for regulating the object's temperature by a two-position control law.

RD3-02 provides the following functions:

• measuring parameters of various objects using standard sensors (resistance temperature detectors (temperature sensors) TSM (50M, 100M) and TSP (50P, 100P, Pt100), thermocouples (TXK, TXA, TJK, etc.), sensors with unified current and voltage output signals) on three channels;
• displaying current, set parameter values, and the corresponding channel number on built-in LED digital indicators;
• ability to change the set value (setpoint);
• data exchange with a personal computer via RS-485 interface;
• generation of an "Error" signal;
• software modification of the conversion characteristic parameters.

Available modifications:

• panel mounting (model with three indicators);
• power supply from AC mains voltage nominal 140–220 V and DC source nominal 12–24 V;
• input signal types: TC, PT, AN, and AT;
• RS-485 interface (ModBus RTU);
• output signal types: R, OK, OS.

Description of operation of the RD3-02 temperature controller for edge banding machine

The device allows setting:

"St 1" - set temperature for channel 1 (from -50 to 600);

"St 2" - set temperature for channel 2 (from -50 to 600);

"St 3" - set temperature to enable operation (from -50 to 600).

Operation:

1) Channels 1 and 2 control heaters;

2) Channel 3 operates as an signaling output.

When the device is turned on, output #3 is off;

if the temperature is below the set value, "oFF" is displayed on indicator B – the analog output is at minimum, and output #3 is in a state depending on the set operation logic (LoGI): 1 - on, 2 - off;

if the temperature is above the set value, the feed rate value in set units is displayed on indicator B – analog output is active, and output #3 is in a state depending on the set operation logic (LoGI): 1 - off, 2 - on. The feed rate can be adjusted using the buttons on the front panel.

Start/Stop control from the front panel:

if parameter "o_PS" is set to 01, output #3 can only be switched on/off by a short press of the "Cycle" button, with the feed rate value blinking on the indicator in the off state;

Standby mode:

when an external "control" contact is closed, output #3 is shut off, "oFF" is displayed on indicator B – analog output is at minimum, and channels 1 and 2 switch to regulation by the set temperature of channel 3.
