Specifications

Description

Temperature sensors TSM-004, TSP-004, TXA-004, TXK-004, TJK-004 of group 0 are intended for measuring the temperature of ambient air, liquid, gaseous and bulk chemically non-aggressive media, as well as the surface of solid bodies in various industries.

Temperature is the most common measured parameter, and overheating is one of the most undesirable factors in equipment operation, which is why there are many ways and places for the application of temperature sensors.

The operating principle of resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) is based on the change in electrical resistance of conductors and semiconductors depending on temperature. The material from which the sensor is made must have a high temperature coefficient of resistance, preferably a linear dependence of resistance on temperature, good reproducibility of properties, and inertness to environmental influences. Platinum exhibits all these properties to the greatest extent; copper somewhat less.

Thermocouples are purely differential temperature sensors. They generate an electrical signal proportional to the temperature difference between two different points. Therefore, the junction (weld) used to measure the required temperature is called the "hot" junction, while the other junction (which cannot be avoided) is called the "cold" junction.

FAQ

Questions and answers

What are the temperature sensors TSM-004, TSP-004, TXA-004, TXK-004, TJK-004 designed for?
Temperature sensors TSM-004, TSP-004, TXA-004, TXK-004, TJK-004 are designed to measure the temperature of the ambient environment, as well as liquid, gaseous, and bulk chemically non-aggressive media and the surface of solid bodies.
What types of sensitive elements are used in these sensors?
The sensors have a wiring scheme for the sensitive element of two-, three-, or four-wire connection. Depending on the type of sensitive element, they are classified as resistance temperature detectors (TSM, TSP), thermoelectric converters (TXA, TXK, TJK), and semiconductor (TP).
What material is used for the protective fitting and what is the protection rating of the sensors?
The protective fitting material is made of stainless steel 12X18H10T, which ensures high reliability and protection against mechanical impacts. The protection rating of the sensors against dust and water corresponds to IP54.
What is the operating principle of the temperature sensors TSM, TSP, TXA, TXK, TJK?
Resistance temperature detectors are based on the change in electrical resistance of platinum or copper depending on temperature. Thermocouples generate an electrical signal proportional to the temperature difference between the hot and cold junctions. Semiconductor converters operate on a different principle, for example, the DS18B20.
What are the tolerance classes for these temperature sensors?
Tolerance classes for resistance temperature detectors are A, B, C; for thermoelectric converters — 1, 2. This determines the measurement accuracy of the sensors.
