Description

Temperature sensors of group 012 type 0 are designed for measuring the temperature of the surrounding environment, liquid, gaseous, and bulk chemically non-aggressive media, as well as the surface of solid bodies in various industries.

Temperature is the most common parameter to measure, and overheating is one of the most harmful factors in equipment operation, which is why there is a great variety of ways and places to use temperature sensors.

The operating principle of resistance temperature detectors is based on the change of electrical resistance of conductors and semiconductors depending on temperature. The material from which such a sensor is made must have a high temperature coefficient of resistance, a maximally linear dependence of resistance on temperature, good reproducibility of properties, and inertness to environmental influences. Platinum best meets these requirements; to a somewhat lesser extent — copper.

Thermocouples are exclusively differential temperature sensors that generate an electrical signal proportional to the temperature difference between two different points. The junction (weld) used to measure the required temperature is called the “hot” junction, and the other junction (which must not be avoided) is called the “cold” junction.

Classification of 012 REGMIK temperature sensors by type of measuring (sensitive) element

  • Resistance temperature detectors (thermometers) - TSM, TSP;
  • Thermoelectric converters (thermocouples) - TXA, TXK, TJK;
  • Semiconductor converters - TP.

Main technical characteristics of 012 temperature sensors:

  • Sensitive element connection scheme — two-wire, three-wire, four-wire; depending on the type of sensitive element, they are divided into:
    • Resistance temperature detectors (RTD) (50M, 100M, 50P, 100P, Pt100, Pt500, Pt1000, Pt2000, Pt10000);
    • Thermoelectric converters (TC) (thermocouples TXA (K), TXK (L));
    • Semiconductor (DS18B20); depending on the type of sensitive element, they are divided into:
  • Protective fitting material - stainless steel 12X18H10T;
  • Degree of protection against dust and water ingress - IP54;
  • Design of temperature converters (temperature sensors) - non-disassemblable;
  • Insulation resistance - not less than 100 MΩ;
  • Accuracy classes - A, B, C (for RTD), 1, 2 (for TC).
