Description

Humidity and temperature sensors (psychrometer) DVT-003 are specialized devices designed to measure air temperature and humidity.

The psychrometric humidity measurement is based on the principle of determining relative humidity using two thermometers: "dry" and "wet." The "dry" thermometer is an ordinary thermometer that measures air temperature, while the "wet" one is a temperature sensor (thermometer) surrounded by moist fabric. The evaporation intensity from the wet thermometer’s surface depends on the air humidity. The drier the air, the more intensive the evaporation of moisture. During evaporation, energy is absorbed from the thermometer, causing its temperature to drop. Relative air humidity can be determined by the dry thermometer temperature and the temperature difference between the "dry" and "wet" thermometers.

However, the temperature difference depends not only on the relative air humidity but also on the air movement speed.

The capacitive method for measuring relative humidity is based on the change in the dielectric constant of a material due to moisture absorption from the surrounding air. The material is placed between two electrodes, which are the plates of a capacitor; thus, the capacitance varies depending on the ambient air humidity.

The psychrometer consists of two temperature sensors that are completely independent of each other. The first thermometer measures temperature, while humidity is calculated as the difference between the readings of the "dry" and "wet" thermometers. Humidity calculation is done based on the psychrometric table.

The operating measurement temperature range is from -40 to 180 °C;

The humidity and temperature sensors (psychrometer) DVT-003 are recommended to be installed indoors with an air flow velocity of about 2 m/s. The supply set does not include a tray for the wet sensor or a wick.
